About the Event
Introduction to Yoga: A Beginner's Guide
If you're new to the world of yoga, then this is the perfect place to start. I understand that beginning any new practice can be daunting, which is why we provide an open and welcoming environment for you to ask any questions. Our focus is on helping you adjust and modify poses to protect and enhance your body.
The world of yoga can be overwhelming; there are countless styles, teachers, and yoga practices for different abilities. Not to mention, the unique language we use in our classes. Did you know that yoga postures and movements are just one aspect of a whole philosophy dating back thousands of years? In this class, we'll explore what yoga truly is, its philosophy, and the benefits and methods of yogic breathing. We'll also focus on the correct alignment for yoga postures, including Sun salutations, Downward facing dog, the Warrior Poses, and balancing poses.
Our class is energetic, strong, and, of course, fun! We'll provide a strong foundation in yoga basics, so you feel confident in joining a yoga class or practicing at home. For current students, this class serves as a chance to revisit the basics and correct any bad habits you may have picked up along the way. We encourage a stronger foundation to progress and deepen your current practice.

- Your own yoga mat (or towel)
- Any yoga props you may have, such as a yoga strap, blocks, etc. (none of these are essential)
